For many patients, yes.
Telehealth allows appropriate psychiatric services to be delivered remotely through secure telecommunications technology.
Depending on clinical appropriateness, provider licensure, the patient's physical location at the time of the appointment, and applicable laws and regulations, virtual mental health services may include psychiatric evaluations, follow-up appointments, medication management, and certain therapy services.
Telehealth can be particularly useful for people who have demanding work schedules, transportation difficulties, caregiving responsibilities, mobility concerns, or limited access to nearby psychiatric providers.
However, telehealth is not appropriate for every situation. Your provider should determine whether virtual treatment is clinically suitable for your needs.
